Mission

Since 1948, NCA has continually worked in Cleveland’s urban neighborhoods. Our mission is “to support and strengthen education for children, families, and older adults, and advocate for the social, economic, and political well-being of Greater Clevelanders”.

Vision

To be a leader in Northeast Ohio driving collaborative partnerships to deliver quality programs to enhance all individuals’ engagement in education, experiences and opportunities.

Our History

Founded in 1948 and renamed in1963 as the Greater Cleveland Neighborhood Centers Association, Inc. we are better known as NCA. This was the first organization in the United States to serve as a coordinating entity for settlement houses and neighborhood centers. NCA and its member centers engaged Cleveland residents with a range of social, educational, and related services.

NCA has evolved from an association into an organization partnering with a wider range of community-based organizations (CBOs), institutions and individuals to provide vital services to children, families and older adults meeting their needs where they are.

Today, NCA forges key partnerships with CBOs to help create more vibrant and healthy neighborhoods in Northeast Ohio with a focus on educational enrichment programs in urban communities.

We would like to recognize the following Foundations/Organizations
who have funded NCA through grants and contributions:
